We have around 400 engineers who design and build our in house banking platform. Engineers collaborate across disciplines to solve interesting challenges across products, infrastructure, security, payments, finance, customer operations, fincrime, and data.

Responsibilities

As a Full Stack Engineer you'll work with a squad alongside product managers, marketers, user researchers, designers, mobile and web engineers, data and business analysts, and writers. You will build and support a particular part of Monzo within a self governing collective (Core Banking, Business Banking, Wealth, Borrowing, Growth, Payments, Platform, Fincrime, Security & Expansion). You'll collaborate across teams to deliver high quality, customer centric products and services.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building backend technology products.
• Product mindset - care about customer outcomes and make data informed decisions.
• Comfortable working in a team dealing with ambiguity.
• Interest in distributed systems and writing resilient software.
• Experience with strongly typed languages such as Go, Java, C, or Scala.
• Passion for building performant web experiences and designing UI that enables users.

What you'll be working on

• Writing application code in Go.
• Using AWS for most production infrastructure and GCP for data infrastructure.
• Building public web apps and internal tools with React.
• Working with physical datacenters and third party integrations.
