Forward Deployed Engineer

As a Forward Deployment Engineer you will help drive the growth of Speechmatics by working directly with customers and partners across industries to demonstrate, integrate, customise, and deploy our Voice AI at speed.

As a product evangelist you'll be directly responsible for implementing our Voice AI in demos, Proof of Concepts, and in full scale customer environments. You'll love the challenge of integrating with our APIs to rapidly create powerful demos of our Voice AI in different use cases and deployment scenarios.

This is a hands on engineering role. You'll work side by side with end users and our brilliant engineering team to deliver measurable value in days or weeks, not months.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop rapid prototypes and proof of concepts and pilots to validate customer solutions.
• Build demonstrations for events and large communities that engage with the Voice AI community.
• Design, build, and deploy custom integrations of Speechmatics' APIs into diverse customer and partner environments.
• Provide technical guidance and support to customers and internal teams to ensure successful solution adoption and deployment.
• Collaborate directly with customer engineering teams to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues, and optimise deployments for accuracy, scalability, and performance.
• Educate customers around installation, support, and operation of deployments.

Who we are looking for:

• Exceptional software development knowledge and API integration expertise, combined with excellent communication and problem solving skills, able to distil complex technical concepts into compelling solutions.
• Proficiency in languages such as TypeScript, SvelteKit, and React, enabling the building of jaw dropping proof of concepts that showcase innovation at its finest.
• A genuine fascination with Voice AI and a curiosity about user experience design and conversational interfaces, crafting experiences that anticipate user needs and push the boundaries of voice technology.
• Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to treat failed experiments as stepping stones, filling the gaps of half formed ideas into coherent, brilliant solutions that exceed expectations.
