Food & Beverage Team Member

We're looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member. The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we'd love you to join us. In this role, you'd be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out.

Contract Information

• Contract type: zero hour, meaning we can't guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.
• Working pattern: shifts will start between 9:00 and 12:00, and finish between 16:00 and 18:00. You will work some weekends and Bank Holidays, but not all. This will be discussed further at interview.
• Contract duration: fixed term for 9 months.
• Salary: £12.75 per hour.
• Provisional interview dates: Tuesday 2nd June and Sunday 7th June.
• Closing date: 31st May 2026.

Assessment

Responsibilities

As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You'll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café. With your love of working with people, your 'can do' attitude and your desire to provide an outstanding service, you'll be making sure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that's constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial.

• Be a people person, giving great service and making recommendations based on customer needs.
• Maintain high standards of food and drink preparation and presentation, keeping displays and signs accurate and looking good.
• Assist the kitchen team with preparing food when required.

Training & Development

We'll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
