Job Description

The Facilities Management Team delivers a suite of services to staff based in Winchester including supporting technology to enable remote meetings across the council. Our team of competent, reliable and professional individuals provides high quality services to meet and exceed expectations of our customers.

We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic Events Team based in Winchester. Meetings take place throughout the day- both on site and remotely, in meeting rooms across the complex. The events team support the webcasting of Hampshire County Council Member's meetings- including Decision Days, Cabinet meetings and County Council. The events team also support wedding ceremonies throughout the week taking place in the Register Office building.

The Events Team work closely with staff and external customers to ensure that meetings and events run efficiently and successfully. As part of the Facilities Management team the events, reception and Great Hall teams work closely and provide support for each other during busy periods and to cover absences.

Teamwork is an essential requirement of the role, enabling the team to be robust in providing an excellent standard of customer service. Daily tasks include setting up AV equipment, assisting staff with recently installed meeting room technology and managing the room booking software along with meeting organisers to discuss their requirements. We also operate the webcasting equipment for a number of internal meetings so that they can be watched live on the internet by interested members of the public.

In your role you will demonstrate a real commitment to professional customer service and a flexible approach to your work. You will have excellent communication skills to interact with a large pool of colleagues and stakeholders, together with good organisational skills. The role can be very demanding during peak periods, with flexible working necessary along with overtime opportunities in evenings and at weekends.

Due to the duties involved in this role, you will need to be able to fulfill the moving/handling requirements as detailed in the Job Summary and Person Specification. The successful candidate must also be able to work between the hours of Monday to Friday, a shift pattern is in place between these times.

Training will be provided to assist you in this role including Customer Service, First Aid and manual handling.
