Job Description
Job Overview

A Demand Response Services Manager will assist in securing new and extended contracts and support the delivery of projects from origination to implementation. The role focuses on developing VPP and DS3 services for the industrial utilities sector, with large commercial, public, and buildings sectors. It manages the delivery of Energy Markets and Hubgrade Services to existing and new clients, interacting with suppliers, clients, institutional bodies, and operations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operation of two Demand Side Units.
  • Maintain participation in Demand Side Markets for Short Run and Long Run DSUs.
  • Liaise with the Site Monitoring Centre (Veolia UK & Ireland) and coordinate troubleshooting activities.
  • Ensure compliance issues are dealt with efficiently.
  • Account manage existing VPP clients with a view to expanding services.
  • Issue month end figures for the VPP unit to group accounts.
  • Identify, analyse, design, cost, negotiate and manage VPP and DS3 contracts.
  • Perform investment grade audits and project revenue models.
  • Originise project development plans and draft contract scopes of work for tendering exercises.
  • Carry out tender evaluations and negotiate contracts.
  • Support the implementation team with project schedules and budgets.
  • Support combined heat and power (CHP) operations.
  • Support the Energy Bureau service to Veolia clients.
  • Report to the Head of Technical for Energy and manage 2-3 technical specialists within the VPP team.
  • Develop new projects involving battery storage and/or hybrid solutions.
  • Support development of projects including CHP schemes, district heating, biomass CHP, and energy performance contracting.
  • Drive growth and operation of Energy Markets and Hubgrade Services.
Requirements
  • Degree in Energy Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years in a senior role managing/developing teams.
  • Experience in tender evaluations and contract negotiations.
  • Experience with CHP operations.
  • Proven track record in investment grade audits and revenue modelling.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

Work Arrangements

Contract: Permanent - duration & type: Permanent. Location: Blanchardstown. Working hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some international travel may be required.
