Commercial Manager

Industry: Ship Repair

Location: Rotterdam area (Netherlands)

Languages Required: Dutch & English

We are working with a dynamic, fast-growing maritime services organization operating worldwide across ship repair, heavy offshore, and luxury vessels. The company provides a wide range of services, from small repairs and system renewals to full project management and ship upgrades. Purpose of the role:

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for driving and executing the commercial strategy for the business. This includes identifying new business opportunities, improving processes, expanding service offerings, and leading a small commercial team as it grows. The role is part of the Management Team and contributes directly to strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commercial growth strategies.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
  • Expand and improve service offerings and products.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Oversee marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Report commercial performance and progress to senior management.
  • Lead, motivate, and support the sales and commercial team.
  • Manage budgets for sales and marketing activities.
  • Conduct contract negotiations with new and existing clients.

Required skills and competencies:

  • Fluent in Dutch and English (both written and spoken)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commercially focused and result-driven mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a commercial role, ideally in maritime, offshore, or related technical services.
