Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Fixed Term Contract

Are you an experienced financial leader looking for a career and lifestyle choice?

We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join a large and well-established community-focused organisation in Eastern regional Victoria.

This is a fixed-term role, covering a period of up to 14 months, reporting directly to the CEO. As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will lead the Finance and IT teams, playing a crucial role in the strategic financial planning and management of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide strategic oversight for business planning, financial management, reporting, and analysis.
  • Deliver high-level advice on financial performance to the CEO, Board, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and funding requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and present financial strategy recommendations.
  • Oversee cash flow management, working capital, and year-end financial statements.
  • Guide the finance and IT teams to ensure services are delivered efficiently, meeting business needs.
  • Participate in the audit program and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including financial institutions and suppliers.
  • Support budget development and monitor KPI's aligned with the strategic plan.

About You:

  • Proven senior-level financial management experience in a complex organisation, preferably within the health or human-services sector.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a focus on coaching, development, and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic financial planning and delivering actionable insights to executives and boards.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, taxation, and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence key decisions.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard financial software packages and relevant legislation in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, the ability to communicate across all levels of an organisation.

A relevant tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor of Business (majoring in accounting) and CPA qualifications or equivalent, are necessary to be successful in this role.
