Job Description

My client is recruiting for a Chef to work within their organisation within Dagenham on a permanent basis.

Role Purpose:

The restaurant is seeking a passionate, skilled chef to create delicious meals for their patrons. You will be responsible for ensuring that each dish is nutritious and cost-effective, and collaborating with a team of kitchen staff to deliver food that meets the highest quality standards.

To ensure success in your role as chef, you should have great organisational skills and impeccable time management. Top candidates will also be creative individuals, capable of creating dishes that set us apart and keep people coming back for more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
  • Following menus and recipes, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
  • Supporting the Chef manager in overseeing all kitchen operations.
  • Coordinating kitchen staff, assisting them as required.
  • Assisting with stock taking and placing orders to replenish stock.
  • Maintaining safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
  • Assisting with creating new recipes to keep the menu fresh.
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends.
  • Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • C&G 706 1 & 2 in Food Preparation & cookery or NVQ equivalent.
  • Food Safety & Hygiene Level 2
  • Allergen Awareness
  • English & maths

Required Experience:

  • A qualified chef within contract catering, or restaurants experience with a proven track record for offering great food.

Required Skills and abilities

  • Passionate about high quality catering and excellent service delivery
  • A dynamic, forward-thinking approach with an ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Organised and thrives on working in a busy environment.
  • Sound knowledge of legislation, best practice, and industry standards
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent food preparation and production skills
  • A customer service focused.

The salary will range from £23,000 to £27,000 depending on experience.

The hours will be from 7am to 3:30pm Monday to Friday.

The role is a permanent role.
