Bookings Administrator

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy logistics company as a Bookings Clerk on a 1-year maternity cover contract. The role involves supporting the day-to-day administration of transport bookings, customer service, invoicing and account support within a fast paced office environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with customers, drivers and internal departments to ensure bookings and operational tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. While initially offered as maternity cover, there is potential for the role to lead to permanent employment for the right candidate.
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience
Working Hours: 08:30 - 17:30, Monday to Friday
Location: Fully office based
Key Account Administration, Rating and Invoicing- Accurately rate all jobs within the system, ensuring all applicable ancillary charges are included
- Review weekly RCNs and investigate any discrepancies or queries
- Check and process wasted journey charges where applicable
- Resolve invoicing and rating queries efficiently
- Complete weekly invoicing processes, ensuring all outstanding items are cleared
- Process and issue credit notes when required
- Maintain and update the rate screen as needed
- Manage and monitor the shared mailbox
- Monitor incoming emails and ensure all enquiries are responded to or actioned promptly
- Support next day administration tasks, including PIN checking, call overs and obtaining missing information
- Assist with daily administrative duties such as handling emails, speaking with customers and forwarding communications to the relevant departments
- Provide effective support and communication between the Customer Service team, customers and other departments within the business
- Carry out general office administration including answering calls, data entry and arranging meetings
- Work with support teams to resolve IT or system related issues affecting the department
- Provide holiday and absence cover where required
- Experience within a UK Logistics/Transport setting
- Strong IT skills with experience using Microsoft Office and Excel
- Ability and willingness to learn new systems and software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, including good punctuation and reliability
A full driving licence and access to your own transport would be advantageous due to the office location and limited public transport access.
