Job Description
Overview

A rapidly expanding FMCG business is looking to recruit a Bonded Warehouse Manager to join their team. The role is to oversee the secure storage, handling, and movement of goods within a bonded warehouse, ensuring full compliance with HMRC customs regulations and international trade laws. You will manage warehouse operations, supervise staff, and maintain accurate inventory and customs documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and customs standards.
  • Manage goods in/out processes, including shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Implement and maintain warehouse management systems (e.g., AS400) to optimise efficiency.
  • Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers and internal supply chain teams.
Compliance & Customs
  • Ensure full compliance with HMRC Customs Warehousing Procedures (CWP) and Excise Duty Suspension regulations.
  • Operate and manage EMCS (Excise Movement and Control System) for excise goods.
  • Submit accurate customs declarations and monthly W1 returns.
  • Maintain meticulous records of bonded stock, movements, and authorisations.
  • Supervise and train warehouse staff to uphold compliance and operational standards.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Monitor performance using KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in bonded warehouse or logistics management.
  • Strong knowledge of HMRC customs procedures and excise regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
  • Experience in process optimisation and compliance auditing.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management.
  • Experience with international trade documentation and customs liaison.
