Security Clearance Requirements

Due to the nature of this role, full Security Clearance (SC) is required before starting on site. You must also meet BPSS requirements for an airport pass.

To be eligible, you must:

Hold, or be willing and eligible to obtain, SC
Be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship
Have lived and worked in the UK continuously for the past 5 years
Be a sole British national (UK EYES ONLY restriction applies)

Who We Are & What's on Offer

Matchtech is partnering with a leading aerospace organisation currently seeking skilled and dedicated B1 Licensed Engineers for both permanent and contract opportunities.

You'll supervise a skilled team of structures and mechanical technicians, ensuring detailed inspections are completed in line with Boeing manufacturing standards, while working alongside the Lead Structures Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

How You'll Contribute

As a skilled B1 Engineer, you'll lead by example, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency, while coordinating task delivery across the production and modification programme.

As the primary contact for structural and mechanical aspects of the project, you'll collaborate closely with the Structures SMEs and provide regular progress updates and issue reports to your Line Manager.

My Key Responsibilities Include:

Supervision & Leadership
Oversee inspection and maintenance tasks in line with BAC Boeing specifications. Promote best practices, safety, and continuous improvement across your team. Mentor junior staff and uphold standards aligned with RA-4807 / RA-4806.
Compliance & Technical Insight
Interpret technical manuals, drawings, and regulatory data accurately. Support mechanical system testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
Monitoring & Reporting
Track task card time allocation, identify discrepancies, and perform root cause analysis. Escalate deviations to line managers, planners, and programme teams.
Efficiency & Improvement
Recommend improvements to boost efficiency, streamline workflows, and maximise resource utilisation across structural and mechanical operations.

The Essentials You'll Need

Licensing & Experience: Hold a valid CAA/EASA Part-66 B1 Licence with type rating on Boeing 737NG, proven experience in aircraft modifications and inspections, particularly within heavy modification programmes.
Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of aircraft systems and solid working knowledge of MS Office applications for reporting and documentation.
Skills & Attributes: An excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work effectively within a team.
Eligibility & Compliance: Be eligible to live and work in the UK and able to meet UK security vetting requirements.

Mandatory Part-145 Training Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have completed the following:

Initial Human Factors; Continuation Training Human Factors
Initial SFAR phase 1&2; Continuation Training SFAR phase 1&2
Initial EWIS group 1&2 Continuation Training EWIS group 1&2
ETOPS, RVSM and a Fuel Tank Safety Certificate
