Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands

Salary / Benefits: £19k - £26k + Training + Benefits

Level of Experience: Trainee Asbestos Lab Analyst through to Lead Asbestos Lab Analyst

A privately owned and established asbestos company with a national presence is looking to recruit a BOHS P401 qualified Asbestos Lab Analyst based in and around the Birmingham area. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working within an established laboratory, preparing and analysing samples using PLM and stereo microscopy. Applicants will be considered from Walsall, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Cannock, Tamworth, Solihull, Hinkley, Coventry, Nuneaton, Bromsgrove, and Redditch.

Experience & Qualifications

• Must hold the BOHS P401 qualification.
• Must have extensive experience working within a laboratory setting in the asbestos industry.
• Must have an excellent eye for detail and extensive knowledge of HSG 248 guidelines.
• Must have excellent communication skills and be competent in using TEAMS / TRACKER systems.
• We are also interested in candidates with P401/P402/P403/P404/P404 or S301 CCP.

The Role

• Log samples and store accurately upon arrival to the laboratory.
• Prepare samples and carry out analysis using PLM and stereo microscopy.
• Enter all findings onto an internal database, ensuring details are entered correctly.
• Complete all analysis test sheets and reports, ensuring they are uploaded within client deadlines.
• Ensure all work complies with HSG 248 guidelines.
• Maintain clean and safe working practices in the lab.
• Liaise with clients to build and maintain rapport.
