Accounts Manager / Senior Accounts Manager
Location: SW London (Hybrid Working) - District Line
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 + Discretionary Bonus
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Reports to: Audit & Accounts Director


A well-established mid-sized accountancy and advisory firm based in South London (District Line) is looking to hire an Accounts Manager or Senior Accounts Manager to take over a key portfolio within their accounts production team.
The firm is known for its strong culture of internal development and its diverse client base ranging from OMBs and SMEs to international group subsidiaries.


This role arises as a result of succession planning, and the position offers a unique opportunity to step into a well-managed portfolio with room for progression to Director.

The Accounts Manager / Senior Accounts Manager Role

We are seeking an ambitious and personable Accounts Manager or Senior Accounts Manager to take full ownership of a diverse portfolio of clients. This is a pivotal role with the autonomy to manage client relationships, oversee junior team members, and support the firm's growth in accounts and advisory services.

You will manage a portfolio of around 100 limited companies and some LLPs, spanning a wide range of sectors including property, PR, renewable energy, entertainment, and professional services.

Accounts Manager / Senior Accounts Manager Responsibilities:

  • Full management of a diverse client portfolio, acting as the primary point of contact
  • Responsibility for WIP and billing (circa £250k)
  • Preparation and review of statutory accounts (including group consolidations)
  • Preparation and review of monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Delegation of bookkeeping to junior staff and review of their work
  • Supervising a small team of three junior team members, including managing workflow, mentoring, and conducting appraisals
  • Ensuring compliance with FRS 102, with some exposure to FRS 105 and IFRS
  • Build trusted client relationships, offering value-added advice and identifying new opportunities

Accounts Manager / Senior Accounts Manager Profile:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Experience managing a portfolio of OMB/SME clients, preferably across multiple sectors
  • Proven ability to supervise and develop junior staff
  • A stable career history with evidence of progression and reliability
  • Personable, confident, and comfortable in client-facing roles
  • Proactive, commercially aware, and open to taking on new business
