This is an operational role supervising work groups of offenders serving a community sentence. Responsibilities include driving service vehicles and site supervision, ensuring tasks are completed to a high standard, and working alongside service users to demonstrate good practice.

Summary

The role involves working on practical projects that serve as credible community punishment, maintaining discipline, supporting rehabilitation, and possibly providing vocational training. Flexibility may be required for weekend work and collaboration with volunteers and partner organizations.

Responsibilities, Activities & Duties

The job holder will:

  • Conduct start-of-day safety talks and motivate service users.
  • Follow work directions and ensure health & safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Manage tools, equipment, and supplies safely.
  • Perform dynamic risk assessments.
  • Use motivational techniques to promote discipline and good behavior.
  • Monitor attendance and promote successful completion of placements.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to assessments and training.
  • Promote Community Payback initiatives.

All duties are subject to change and reasonable adjustments will be considered. The role requires confident communication in English, and hybrid working arrangements are available where appropriate.
