Weekly Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (Possible Saturdays included in future)
Shift Times: 8am to 4.30pm, 5 days per week
Base Location: Toughers, Naas Enterprise Park, Naas, Co. Kildare. Drivers perform nationwide deliveries.
Overview of RoleSupport Vision Ireland Retail shops by collecting and delivering clothing, increasing sales and profits to benefit people with sight loss. Act as an ambassador for the organisation, cooperating with shop teams, training, funding and marketing activities.
Responsibilities- Support Vision Ireland Retail shops by collecting and delivering clothing.
- Maintain assigned vehicle with regard to daily/weekly driver checks.
- Fully comply with Irish Driving regulations and traffic laws.
- Comply with health and safety working practice.
- Ensure that all vehicles are kept clean and tidy and cleaned out at least once a week.
- Ensure that no Vision Ireland Retail vehicle is damaged.
- Ensure that no violation of the Road Traffic Act is breached when using Vision Ireland Retail vehicles.
- Report verbally and in writing any damages to vehicles immediately to the line manager; take pictures and exchange insurance and contact details.
- Present a good image of Vision Ireland Retail at all times.
- Be willing to work reasonable additional hours and perform any other additional duties as required.
- Travel to meetings and training sessions as required.
- Have basic knowledge of Vision Ireland Retail's structures and current activities.
- Engage and support fund raising and marketing initiatives.
- Communicate instructions and information received to van team members and act on them regularly.
- Complete all required documents (e.g., collection/delivery notes, vehicle checklists, mileage sheets, fuel receipts) and return them to the Warehouse Manager.
- Work with shop teams to ensure an effective time management programme is operated.
- Administer all requests for practical help confidentially via the appropriate channels.
- Follow Vision Ireland Retail van administration procedures, directives and agreed timescales.
- Ensure satisfactory compliance with Vision Ireland Retail audits and health & safety audits.
- Securely park and lock each day, ensuring all shutters and gates are locked.
- Follow Vision Ireland Retail policies and procedures, including equal opportunities, at all times.
- Minimise the environmental impact of van activities in line with policies.
- Adhere to health & safety policies and report any maintenance or security concerns to the SMC.
- Follow manual handling guidelines at all times.
- Carry out all reasonable tasks and requests as assigned by manager/supervisor.
- Eligibility to work full time in ROI.
- Good local geographical knowledge.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to use initiative.
- Ability to work independently.
- Full, clean driver's licence essential.
- Experience working for a not for profit organisation is an advantage.
