Specialty Doctor in Addiction Medicine

The Trust is seeking a speciality doctor with recent acute medical experience to join the Chapman Barker Unit Team. The Trust regards this as an opportunity to develop the physical health expertise within the team and offers and opportunity for the post-holder to develop their skills and expertise in the management of physical health-related disorders commonly found in specialist inpatient detoxification units. The post will be supervised by a Consultant Addictions Psychiatrist however, there is the potential for some supervision from a local Consultant Hepatologist as well.
Main duties of the jobUndertake assessments of referrals/admissions to the service.
Diagnose and formulate management plans of referrals/admissions to the service.
Provide management in complex physical health presentations.
Attend daily board rounds with the MDT for patients on the planned admission wards and the RADAR ward.
Assessment and management of risk including of vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety and risk of harm to others, with support from psychiatric colleagues.
Work in a collaborative way with multidisciplinary teams including external partners.
Work in partnership with professionals from partner providers.

Person Specification Qalifications- Medical Degree
- MRCPsych OR MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
- GMC - Licence to Practise

£61,542 to £99,216 a yearper annum pro rata
