Job Description

Aylesford Medical Centre is an established and friendly practice located within the Royal British Legion Village in Aylesford, Kent. We are looking to recruit a Salaried GP ideally with a speacial interest in Women's Health.

Main duties of the job

To manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in aPrimary Care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registeredand temporary patients. To carry out allduties in a professional manner and adhere to all Aylesford Medical centreprotocols, policies and guidelines at all times.

Job responsibilities

The followingare the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement tocarry our other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload andstaffing levels:

The deliveryof highly effective medical care to the entitled population.

The provisionof services commensurate with the GMS contract

Genericprescribing adhering to local and national guidelines

Effectivemanagement of long-term conditions

Processing ofadministration in a timely-manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptionrequests and other associated administrative tasks

On arotational basis, the duty doctor role

Maintainaccurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy andguidance

Workcollaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

Adhere tobest practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

Contributesto the successful implementation of continuous improvement and qualityinitiatives within the practice

Acceptdelegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the QOF

Attend andcontribute effectively to practice meetings as required

Contributeeffectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including;clinical governance and training

Ensurecompliance with the appraisal process

Prepare andcomplete the revalidation process

Commit toself-learning and instil an ethos of continued professional development acrossthe practice team

Support thetraining of medical students from all clinical disciplines

Support thePartner and Management Team in achieving the strategic aims of the practice

Review andadhere to practice protocols and policies at all times

Encouragecollaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a cultureof continuous improvement at all times

In additionto the primary responsibilities, the Salaried GP may be requested to:

Participatein practice audits as requested

Participatein local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care, both atpractice and local level

Participatein review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approachi.e. root cause analysis (RCA)

  • Chronic disease management
  • Primary prevention and screening services
  • Clinical governance
  • Delivery of QOF targets
  • Self-audit and reflection
  • Organised and efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork
  • Time-management - being able to prioritise work and work under pressure
  • Adaptibility to change
  • Knowledge of EMIS, Docman and Doris clinical systems
Qualifications
  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
  • Annual appraisal revalidation (when appropriate)
  • On medical performers list
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • UK driving licence
  • Currrent CPR certificate
  • UK work permit (if required)
  • Special interest in Women's Health
