Banking group, based in London. Market leader in FX and cross border payments globally. This role is a SVP level, reporting directly to CRO.
Job DescriptionThis Prudential Risk Oversight SVP is a hands on role with requirements in
- Lead the oversight and challenge of the Group's prudential risk framework, covering:
- Capital (ICAAP)
- Liquidity (ILAAP)
- Market Risk (FX and interest rate)
- Strategic Risk
- Model Risk
- Drive regulatory engagement with the PRA and FCA on prudential matters.
- Provide expert input into Recovery & Resolution Planning.
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Treasury, and Risk teams to ensure robust risk governance.
- Represent Prudential Risk at relevant committees and working groups.
A successful Head of Prudential Risk Oversight SVP should have:
Minimum 7 years' experience working within a UK bank, supporting Treasury and prudential risk management activities, ideally in a second line of defence capacity.
Strong technical and analytical skills across prudential and financial risk, with the ability to:
Analyse prudential risks and provide clear, written assessments.
Understand and evaluate appropriate risk controls.
Deliver second line oversight and constructive challenge across capital, liquidity, market, strategic, and model risks.
Proven experience in reviewing and supporting the development of ICAAP, ILAAP, and Recovery & Resolution documents.
Deep understanding of prudential regulation issued by the PRA, including:
- Capital and liquidity requirements
- Market and interest rate risk
- The PRA's Supervisory Framework
- Broader regulatory regimes as applicable
- Detailed knowledge of CRD/CRR regulation, with awareness of Basel and EBA regulatory frameworks.
Experience engaging with regulators and senior stakeholders in a wholesale banking context.
Exposure to international banking and payment services is advantageous.
Degree-qualified in a relevant field (e.g. Finance, Economics, Risk Management); professional certifications (e.g. FRM, CFA) are a plus.
Willingness to work onsite 4 days per week in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
