Job Description

The closing date is 28 May 2026.

To provide administrative support in the booking centre using the electronic booking system and to support patients, clinicians and other Trust Staff.

Main duties
  • Take calls from patients, carers, members of the public and Health/Social Care staff, adhering to policies and procedures and maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with Caldicott Guidance and the Data Protection Act 1998.
  • Store and access information using IT packages and systems.
  • Provide high quality booking services as part of a team and independently.
  • Answer telephone enquiries within the busy call centre from patients and other healthcare departments/professionals.
  • Process electronic and paper referrals daily, including date stamping and monitoring upon receipt using the relevant electronic systems.
  • Cover evening outpatient department reception duties.
Qualifications
  • Good standard of general education to GCSE level or equivalent, including Maths and English.
Experience
  • Previous clerical experience.
  • Understanding of Microsoft applications.
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and the Data Protection Act 1998.
  • Familiarity with PAS.
Knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and written.
  • Numeracy and literacy.
