Paralegal - Catastrophic Loss

The Major Injury and Casualty team at DWF is one of the largest in the UK and acts for a large number of well-known insurers, handling complex, catastrophic and large loss claims.
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Paralegal to assist senior team members on high value files, including injuries of utmost severity and claims up to £20 million. This role offers a hybrid working pattern from our London office, with 2 to 3 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities- Assist members of the team (Partners, Directors, Senior Associates, Associates and Solicitors) with the progression of personal injury cases through the litigation process, including assisting with disclosure, witness and expert evidence.
- Help prepare for and often attend conferences, hearings, JSMs and trials.
- Act as a trusted member of the team whilst taking responsibility for tasks, including updating files, reviewing confidential records and liaising with third parties.
- Engage with clients and other stakeholders to gather and organise information.
- Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the legal team.
- Action cases in line with instructions; and the department's and client's service standards and protocols.
- A genuine interest in Employer's Liability (EL), Public Liability (PL), Road Traffic Accident (RTA), personal injury or catastrophic injury work, ideally supported by relevant experience.
- The ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively while working to tight deadlines.
- Basic to intermediate IT skills, including confident keyboard use and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- A flexible approach, with a willingness to learn on the job and actively engage in training and development opportunities.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads efficiently.
- The ability to work to agreed service levels and deadlines.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to accurately review files and handle sensitive information with care.
- Experience working within a busy commercial or professional services environment.
