We're looking for an experienced Kubernetes Solutions Architect to support a multi-phase programme modernising cluster build and life cycle automation. This will be a 3 month rolling contract with an expected start date of January 2026, and expected to be for a total of 12 months. The role will in the main, be remote based, however occasional travel to client sites may be required, so the successful candidate must be happy to travel if/when required, and have a Vehicle/Active UK driving licence.

The Role:

• Build and deliver Kubernetes clusters (RKE2/Rancher/GitOps).

• Implement Cluster API (CAPI) and Metal3 to automate bare-metal environments.

• Contribute to cluster life cycle automation: node management, upgrades, patching (including air-gapped environments).

• Support future evolution into virtualised clusters via the OpenStack CAPI provider.

• Integrate with OSS APIs and observability platforms.

• Ensure clusters meet TSA and CIS hardening requirements.

The Person

• Strong Kubernetes experience (RKE2 preferred), Rancher, GitOps.

• Proven experience with CAPI and Metal3.

• Security hardening: TSA, CIS benchmark.

• Experience integrating with OSS and observability tooling.
