The tax administration of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate is looking to fill the full-time position (39 hours per week) of a
IT specialist (m/f/d)Reference number
in the team of the Special Unit for Tax Supervision (SES) at the Koblenz tax office.
The SES consists of tax investigators and IT specialists who perform central tax investigation tasks as a dedicated and independent team. One of the special unit's main tasks is to uncover new, previously unknown areas of tax evasion, primarily at state level, but also across state borders in cooperation with the tax authorities of other federal states.
To this end, SES is proactively designing new areas of investigation to uncover tax evasion. As an IT specialist, you will work in a small team to support SES tax investigators in the analytical processing of these audit areas by designing and developing customized IT solutions. Knowledge of tax law is not required for this.
The results of the joint work form the basis for subsequent (tax investigation) audits. Your contribution is crucial to the success of the joint work.
The tasks to be performed include in particular- Analysis of case-related, tax (life) circumstances
- Analysis and audit-proof preparation of large amounts of data
- Programming database-based applications (front/back end) and interfaces
- Maintenance and further development of existing data and software structures
- Evaluation of Internet pages
- Application support/consulting
- Collaboration in federal/state working groups
Depending on your experience and focus, we are looking for support in one of the following areas:
- Databases & data analysis
- Backend development
- Frontend/web development
- Automation & scripting
- Forensics & special applications
- Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or a comparable degree
- practical experience in at least one object-oriented language (e.g. C#, Java, C++) as well as basic knowledge of JSON, XML, HTML and CSS
- Basic knowledge of relational databases (e.g. MariaDB, Oracle, SQL)
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics independently
- Good knowledge of written and spoken German (language level: competent use of language C1/C2)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills as well as enjoyment of interdisciplinary cooperation with colleagues from other federal states and other authorities
- Open-mindedness for new topics and technologies as well as the ability and willingness to continue training independently and familiarize yourself with new areas
- A high sense of responsibility and commitment
- Ability to think analytically and work in a structured, very thorough and independent manner
- Above-average commitment and motivation as well as high flexibility

- Willingness to travel throughout Germany for several days to share experiences

This is a permanent, open-ended position. The employment relationship is in pay group 10 TV-L. After a successful induction period, the position will be classified in pay group 11 TV-L. If you are suitably qualified and meet the requirements under civil service law, you may be eligible for a civil service appointment at a later date.
