A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded IT Director to lead transformative change within a fast-growing, multi-site construction organisation. This role is perfect for a strategic leader who can harness technology to drive operational excellence, elevate performance, and support ambitious long-term growth.

Acting as the bridge between technology and the wider business strategy, you will shape the digital roadmap, ensure robust governance, and oversee the successful delivery of major transformation initiatives across a complex, geographically distributed estate.

Responsibilities

As an IT Director, you will

  • Set and deliver a future-focused IT strategy that directly aligns with the business' commercial and operational goals.
  • Lead major digital transformation programmes, including ERP upgrades, cloud adoption, and enterprise system evolution.
  • Ensure secure, stable, and scalable IT operations across a large, distributed construction estate.
  • Build strong partnerships across the business, influencing senior stakeholders and ensuring technology delivers measurable value.
Requirements

As an IT Director, you will need

  • Proven experience operating at senior IT leadership level within a multi-site or operationally complex organisation.
  • A track record of aligning technology investments to commercial outcomes and driving ROI.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise IT environments, including cloud, cyber security, and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of influencing at Executive level.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Strategic Leadership & Governance - shaping long-term technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, and embedding strong governance and risk frameworks.
  • Technology Operations & Delivery - overseeing secure, resilient IT operations while leading complex digital transformation programmes.
  • Team Leadership & Management - developing high-performing teams, driving accountability, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Technical Expertise - strong understanding of cloud technologies, network architecture, cyber security, and vendor and contract management.
