Interaction Designer - FTC

FTC, Hybrid

We're looking for a skilled Interaction Designer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You'll be responsible for designing simple, intuitive, and accessible interactions that help users achieve their goals with minimal friction.

You'll collaborate closely with user researchers, content designers, service designers, developers, and product owners to create joined-up user journeys that meet GDS standards and put users at the heart of service design.

• Design end-to-end user journeys for digital services, focusing on simplicity and accessibility.

• Use research insights, prototypes, and data to inform and iterate interaction designs.

• Create wireframes, prototypes, and design artefacts to communicate ideas effectively.

• Work with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately.

• Ensure all designs meet WCAG accessibility standards and GDS Service Standard.

• Participate in usability testing and turn findings into actionable improvements.

• Advocate for user-centred design principles within the team and with stakeholders.

• Experience as an Interaction Designer, UX Designer, or similar role.

• Strong understanding of user-centred design, accessibility, and usability principles.

• Skilled at creating wireframes, prototypes, and interaction patterns.

• Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.

• Familiarity with GDS design principles and service standards (desirable).

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Comfortable iterating designs based on evidence and user feedback.
