Job Description

Position: Group Sales Manager

Location: Birmingham - Hybrid

Salary / Package: £50,000-£60,000 (DOE), Bonus, Company Car, A healthy Non-Contributory Pension, & additional Benefits.

We are seeking an experienced Group Sales Manager to join our organisation. This senior role is ideal for an established Area/Regional/National Sales Manager or equivalent professional with a minimum of five years' industrial water treatment experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.

About the Role

As Group Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and guiding our team of Area Sales Managers, Account Managers, Contracts Managers and Service Chemists across Great Britain and Northern Ireland. You will drive performance through:

  • New business development
  • Account optimisation
  • Existing client retention
  • Ensuring the achievement of individual and group sales targets

You will also directly manage a small portfolio of key accounts where appropriate.

This is a senior management position requiring strong commercial acumen, including a sound understanding of P&L management, profit margin expectations, and strategic planning.

Although the primary focus is supporting the sales team, the position also includes occasional customer coverage during staff absence. Therefore, hands on technical experience, including onsite analytical work on steam boilers, cooling towers, and closed heating/chilled systems, is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and develop the wider sales and service team (approx. 20 employees)
  • Lead sales strategy for new business and account growth
  • Monitor and drive sales performance across regions
  • Maintain and optimise key customer relationships
  • Provide technical support to customers as required
  • Ensure delivery of expected profit margins and P&L targets
  • Submit monthly summary and performance reports directly to the Managing Director
Location & Working Style
  • This role is predominantly home based, with periodic travel across the UK.
  • Candidates based in the Midlands or Southern England are preferred.
  • Optional office working is available at our 2 offices.
