Purpose of the RoleThe Employee Relations and HR Compliance Director will work closely with senior leaders, HR partners, and legal teams to develop ER strategies, advise on policies, ensure legal compliance, and manage complex employee relations issues within our UK operations ( 4,000 employees). The role involves supporting UK-specific needs and regional best practices across EMEA, utilizing data to identify trends and implement proactive solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Guide senior HRBPs and managers to ensure consistent policy application.
- Partner with legal teams to resolve employee relations issues and conduct investigations.
- Analyze trends and recommend interventions to improve workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Design and deliver ER training for HR teams and managers.
- Advise on complex issues such as performance management, terminations, and workplace conduct.
- Use data analytics to monitor organizational health and develop action plans.
- Maintain UK & HR Group policies, ensuring legal compliance.
- Manage the Policy Sub Committee for policy review and updates.
- Lead and develop a small ER team.
- Oversee HR-related speak-ups across EMEA markets and manage contingent workforce compliance.
- 10+ years' experience in UK employment law and employee relations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong policy drafting and stakeholder management skills.
- Deep knowledge of UK employment laws, including dismissal, TUPE, redundancy, and anti-discrimination.
- Experience managing multiple locations and leading small teams.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Ability to handle sensitive information professionally.
- Legal Practice Course (LPC) qualification and legal training experience (preferred but not essential).
- Experience with M&A, TUPE, divestments, and outsourcing.
- Knowledge of Irish employment law is a plus.
- 6-month fixed-term contract.
