We have an exciting opportunity for an Civil Estimator to join our EP&R Estimating Dept within Suir Engineering Ltd. This position will be based in the Waterford Office but can be a Hybrid Role. The EP&R Civil Estimator is responsible for the preparation, submission and management of tenders allocated. The main objective of this role is to achieve accurate net costs in accordance with the tender documents.

What you will be doing?- Review tender drawings, specifications and other tender documents such as geotechnical reports and prepare summaries for tender review
- Complete take offs and prepare bill of quantities
- Prepare tender packages and issue to subcontractors and suppliers for quotation
- Undertake comparison of subcontractor, supplier, and specialist quotations.
- Organise and chair tender review meetings of subcontractor and supplier quotes
- Accurately quantify material, plant, and labour requirements.
- Prepare estimates utilising in house estimating software system or Microsoft Excel.
- Compile and issue tender queries and RFIs.
- Attend site surveys as required.
- Contribute to tender risk and opportunity registers.
- Preparation of tender documentation for submission.
- Attend precontract / post tender meetings.
- Be a Point of Contact / Bid Owner and company representative for the duration of the tender.
- Capable of taking a tender from inception to completion.
- Managing and prioritising civil aspects of tenders to meet client expectations and deadlines.
- Manage the civil aspects of RFI and Post Tender Clarification Process of the Bid.
- The successful candidate will need a minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Civil Estimator, Civil QS or Civil Engineer.
- The ability to read, interpret, understand and quantify specifications and drawings.
- Experience of computerised estimating software.
- The ability to think ahead, plan and prioritise workload.
- The ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
- Numeracy and literacy skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem solving.
- PC Skills: Computer literacy including MS Office.
