Join the Boots Online Doctor team as a Digital Content Specialist! We're excited to welcome experienced individuals to apply for this full-time (40 hours per week) role and help us create meaningful, impactful digital content.

About the role

As a Digital Content Specialist, you'll play an essential role in supporting the creation, management, and optimisation of digital content across various platforms, with a focus on multimedia content. We're looking for someone with excellent project management and organisational skills, who's as comfortable organising a podcast recording and ideating video edits as managing a timetable for marketing campaign content and website updates.

You'll support the Content Manager on the development and execution of a content strategy, ensuring everything we produce is relevant, on-brand, clinically aligned, and customer-focussed. You'll take a lead on elements of day-to-day production, working alongside a variety of internal and external stakeholders - from clinical and creative teams to production companies - to deliver high-quality multimedia content aligned with our goals.

Key responsibilities

Content Production

  • Play a key role in the development, coordination and delivery of multimedia content formats, including videos, podcasts, webinars, and live/recorded event assets.

  • Take a lead on end-to-end content production processes, managing timelines, workflows, and approvals for projects, ensuring smooth delivery under tight deadlines.

  • Support on the development and workflow management of other content, such as editorial articles, emails and website updates.

  • Work closely with internal teams, external production partners, and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy, brand alignment, and compliance.

  • Maintain and evolve a library of multimedia content for ongoing engagement, onboarding, education, and retention purposes.

  • Conceive and produce short edits of content using software such as Canva and Premiere Pro (desirable).

Content Strategy & Customer Engagement

  • Support the ideation and implementation of a long-term content strategy, ensuring alignment with business and clinical objectives.

  • Assist in identifying multimedia and other content opportunities that support business and customer needs.

  • Track and report on performance metrics, using insights to improve future production processes and formats and help prioritise content development efforts.

  • Ensure content complements and enhances the customer journey, from acquisition to retention, and reinforces Boots Online Doctor as an expert, trusted leader in education, information and healthcare support in the digital medicine space. Work closely with and Health Hub teams to capture trading priorities and ensure alignment of business goals.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up-to-date on multimedia content trends, formats, and tools - particularly within healthcare, wellness, or regulated sectors.

  • Bring fresh ideas and innovative thinking to how we use audio-visual storytelling to engage our customers and build trust.

What you'll need to have
  • Proven experience producing and managing multimedia content outputs (e.g. video, podcast, webinar) from start to finish - ideally within healthcare, wellness, or another regulated industry.

  • The ability to conceptualise and execute content that tells a cohesive, impactful story across different channels, and translate business goals and clinical messaging into compelling content that resonates with diverse audiences.

  • Strong project and production management skills - able to run multiple content workstreams and keep people, timelines, and quality on track.

  • Innovative and creative thinker with a demonstrable ability to approach content creation with a fresh perspective, generate unique ideas, and solve challenges.

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a proactive, solution-focused mindset.

  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative team player, capable of working with diverse teams and stakeholders to bring content to life.

It would be great if you also have
  • Familiarity with video and audio production workflows or tools (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Descript, etc.).

  • Comfortable briefing or working with agencies and freelancers on multimedia projects.

  • Proficient in using performance analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, YouTube Analytics) to inform content optimisation.

  • Understanding of CMS platforms, SEO fundamentals, and accessibility/inclusive content best practices
