Developer Experience & Engineering Operations Lead

• Cpl Recruitment are partnering with a leading global technology and AI driven organisation to appoint a Developer Experience & Engineering Operations Lead.
• This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineering leader to drive productivity, standardisation and innovation across a large scale software engineering function.
• Working across architecture, engineering, platform, cloud and product teams, you will focus on improving how software is designed, built, tested and delivered.
• The role combines engineering excellence, operational leadership and AI enabled software delivery, helping teams work more efficiently while enhancing quality, consistency and developer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver a Developer Experience and Engineering Operations strategy that supports engineering teams across multiple regions
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity, streamline workflows and reduce delivery friction
• Establish engineering standards, reusable frameworks, best practices and delivery playbooks
• Partner with architecture, cloud, platform and engineering leaders to enhance software delivery processes and tooling
• Drive adoption of AI enabled engineering capabilities across the software development lifecycle
• Lead initiatives focused on automation, developer tooling, CI/CD optimisation and engineering effectiveness
• Create and deliver enablement programmes including workshops, communities of practice and onboarding frameworks
• Develop measurement frameworks to track engineering productivity, delivery effectiveness and developer satisfaction
• Promote collaboration, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across engineering teams
• Support engineering leadership with governance, operational reporting and strategic transformation initiatives

Requirements

• Significant experience within software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, architecture or engineering operations environments
• Proven track record improving developer productivity, engineering standards or software delivery effectiveness
• Strong understanding of modern software development practices including cloud native architectures, APIs, microservices and CI/CD
• Experience implementing engineering frameworks, standards and reusable delivery patterns across multiple teams
• Knowledge of modern engineering toolchains, automation platforms and developer productivity tools
• Exposure to AI assisted software development, engineering automation or emerging AI technologies within engineering environments
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence engineering, product and business leaders
• Data driven approach to process improvement and operational decision making
• Experience working within large scale, distributed engineering organisations
• Excellent communication, leadership and change management capabilities

• Competitive salary of €112,000 - €128,000 plus 15% annual bonus
