Caretaker

Location: Middlesbrough
Salary: £13 - 17 per hour (dependent on experience)

A welcoming and supportive school in Middlesbrough is seeking a reliable and proactive caretaker to maintain the school premises and ensure a safe environment for staff and students.

The successful caretaker will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the site, carrying out maintenance tasks and ensuring facilities are secure and well maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the school site.
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ensuring health and safety regulations are met.
• Monitoring site security and cleanliness.
• Supporting the smooth running of the premises.
• Maintaining a safe and well-presented environment.

Ideal Caretaker

• Have previous maintenance or caretaker experience.
• Be reliable, proactive and organised.
• Have good practical and problem solving skills.
• Be able to work independently.
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
• Have a fully checkable work history.

This role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service, or completing an application for a new check.
