The Role Bristol Myers Squibb is looking to recruit a permanent Associate Director Global Logistics Process Integration Lead.
Position Summary
- The Logistics Lead is responsible for leading the end-to-end integration program(s) for consolidation of business processes and ERP systems.
- This role drives integration programs across strategic Logistics processes, leading to change management initiatives, and owns business application implementations.
- This role is responsible for leading cross-functional program / project teams, driving adherence to deadlines, developing scope, and managing risks, issues and actions associated with the program.
- Partners with GCO leaders across the organization to deliver sustainable, effective solutions. Mentors and coaches junior process leaders.
- The candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders, including GSC Pillar leadership and functional teams, IT, finance, and other GCOs, to ensure consistent execution and drive towards best-in-class maturity of the assigned capability.
- The candidate leverages digital tools and technologies to streamline processes, enhance data accuracy, and drive innovation.
- Leads Logistics integration program for multiple markets in partnership with the corresponding commercial organizations.
- Leads team to solve complex problems, create deliverables and complete resolution in a timely manner to meet enterprise-wide ERP PMO requirements.
- Devises execution strategies to meet project or program timelines and deliverables.
- Develop partnerships with other GPS leaders to ensure that the ERP and financial systems are aligned with the business objectives and determine the best use of internal / external resources in the realization of those goals.
- Designs, implements, and operationalizes the company's supply chain process and ERP systems.
- Leads execution of programs within digital and capability roadmap in coordination with IT and various GPS business functions.
- Leads UAT strategy across GPS and commercial organizations.
- Driving business process excellence to identify and implement improvement opportunities and develop best practices.
- Leads and executes the cutover strategies for system go-lives.
- Leads impact analysis strategy for externally manufactured products and supports New Product Launch, Divestitures, Sourcing, and Contract Manufacturing work stream with respective strategies with regards to the integration program.
- Interfaces with multiple internal and external partners (3PL, CMOs) including distribution, logistics, inventory planning and purchasing, sales operations, and finance to align on assumptions and implications for distribution optimization.
- Leads cross-pillar end-to-end process standardization and transformation, enabling pillar specific customization where required by business needs.
- Defines process improvement and capability evolution of roadmap across people, process, technology and data.
- Use benchmarking and process KPI's to define opportunities for capability improvement, bringing outside-in perspective to drive best-in-class capabilities.
- Provides leadership for large and complex capability programs, including matrix leadership of sub-programs, as applicable. Develop training content, key performance indicators (KPI's) and change management to ensure user adoption and adherence to standard ways of working for deployment of new or uplifted capabilities.
- Provides dotted line leadership to capability leads supporting their area of responsibility, including providing coaching and guidance for successful execution and sustainment of capability enhancements.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders both within & outside of GSC.
- Provides process expertise, as required, and ensures accuracy of accompanying business process models within their capability scope.
- Help organization transition through disruption at a faster pace and enable accelerated change management with digital evolution.
- Supports the department overarching digital SAP strategy. Identifies and champions emerging technologies (e.g., AI, automation) that can create a competitive advantage and transform business models at an enterprise level.
- Understanding the impacts of functional decisions on key KPIs (e.g., cost per unit, inventory turnover, fulfillment rates, supplier lead times).
- Leads cross-functional projects on digital process redesign and capability building using platforms like SAP IBP, Kinaxis, and cloud-based analytics.
- Models a growth mindset by continually learning and experimenting with digital innovations, fostering a digitally savvy team culture.
- Familiarity with AI and ML systems features including performance & expectation management, optimization, etc.
- Actively upskills on emerging digital technologies and analytics techniques, showing agility in adopting tools and machine learning.
- Comprehensive understanding of the entire value chain, including key business drivers, systems architecture, and tool integration (ERP, APS, TMS, Quickbase etc.).
- Strong understanding of global Logistics processes, with experience in process optimization and standardization while leveraging digital solutions and technologies. Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred.
- Leads the implementation of new digital tools and technologies within their department, ensuring seamless integration and adoption. Can articulate the business value and ROI of these digital investments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must be capable of driving discussions, resolving conflicts, and building consensus.
- Plays a leadership role that inspires and motivates others while fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are crucial. They can identify and prioritize issues, conduct root cause analysis, and propose effective solutions.
- B.S. or B.A. in supply chain or logistics management, technical field (biotechnology, biology, chemistry, pharmacy, engineering or related disciplines) or data science; a master's degree or MBA preferred.
- Advanced certification in Supply Chain Management is strongly preferred (e.g. APICS CSCP/ CPIM).
- Operational excellence experience (Green/Black belt or equivalent) preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in Logistics Management including Transportation Management and Logistics 3PL Management.
- 5+ years' experience in SAP. Prior enterprise SAP implementations a plus. Experience in Quickbase is a plus.
- Broad and diverse experience in supply chain functions are highly desired.
- Proven track record of leading transformational projects with high performing teams with cross functional teams.Strong ability to navigate complex organizations, aligning and integrating cross-functional resources into cohesive teams in a highly matrixed environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and deploy innovative ideas that optimize processes and create value.
- Financial management exposure, awareness, and acumen.
- Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Lean/ Six Sigma certification highly desired.
- Understanding and exposure to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regulatory requirements.
- Exposure and experience in Biotech / Pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, principles and practices.
