Overview

We are working closely with an industry leading UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy. They are now seeking to recruit an Asbestos Lab Analyst to join their lab in the Midlands. The successful candidate will hold the BOHS P401 and will have a strong background working within the asbestos industry. You will be familiar with carrying out sample analysis using stereo microscopy and PLM. It will also be your responsibility to ensure the laboratory is tidy, safe and that equipment is correctly calibrated.

The role will consider candidates from: Market Harborough, Desborough, Leicester, Coventry, Rugby, Nuneaton, Melton Mowbray, Loughborough, Desborough, Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough.

Experience & Qualifications

• Holding the BOHS P401 is essential to the role.
• Experience working for a UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy within the lab.
• Well versed in HSG 248 guidelines.
• Excellent communication / organisational skills.
• Keen eye for detail.
• Also interested in candidates with P401/P402/P403/P404 or S301 CCP.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out analysis on asbestos samples using stereo microscopy and PLM.
• Efficiently logging samples onto internal systems upon arrival to the laboratory.
• Safely labelling and storing asbestos samples.
• Preparing samples for analysis.
• Ensuring job sheets are fully completed and returned to clients within agreed timeframes.
• Cleaning and calibrating equipment, maintaining laboratory cleanliness and safe working practices.
• Working in line with HSG 248 guidelines.
• Maintaining the company's UKAS accreditation.
• Providing support and advice to clients when needed.
