Level of Experience: Trainee Asbestos Lab Analyst through to Lead Asbestos Lab Analyst

Profile: Our client is well established within the asbestos and environmental industry, providing a high quality and professional service to their mixed portfolio of clients throughout the UK. Due to increases in workloads, they are looking to take on a switched on and motivated Asbestos Lab Analyst based in the Reading area. The ideal candidate will hold the P401 qualification and have extensive experience working in a laboratory setting within the asbestos industry, undertaking analysis of asbestos materials and preparing asbestos bulk samples.

• Will effectively hold the P401 qualification and have extensive experience working within a laboratory in an asbestos environment.
• Working knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation.
• Good organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office.

• Carry out analysis of asbestos materials and enter the results onto a database, ensuring the data is accurate and in line with UKAS standards.
• Receive and prepare asbestos bulk samples.
• Maintain and develop UKAS accreditation systems.
• Maintain and assist with quality control and data in an appropriate and accurate way, complying with the company's quality systems.
• Ensure that all analytical equipment used are kept clean and up to date.
• Liaise with clients and managers as and when required - dealing with issues effectively and appropriately.
• Assist and maintain the company's Quality Control system.
• Solve problems pertaining to laboratory tests and ensure that samples are stored appropriately or returned to the right place.
• Comply with health & safety procedures.
• Get involved with any other laboratory duties as and when required.
